Cybermods

The behavior of a custom is primarily decided by the level of AI that it can hold (See AI). Cybermods without AI can be made by a player with the Cybernetics skill during a single downtime, using both downtime actions.

Cybermods with onbord AI must be found, bought, created, or upgraded to the level of AI they want to hold. Upgrading the AI capabilities takes just as long and costs just as much as creating the Cybermod from scratch. The AI must be created, found, or purchased separately (See AI). This means that creating an AI powered Cybermod is a multi-step process that can create opportunities for adventure hooks and cooperation between players.
